Students, Propeller Club making a difference in Jacksonville community
For 13 years, the Transportation and Logistics Society (TLS) at UNF and the Propeller Club have collaborated to make the holidays brighter for parents and children who are victims of domestic violence. Thanks to all who generously gave donations and gifts to benefit the residents of the Hubbard House. Hubbard House provides services to meet the needs of women, children, and men who have been affected by domestic violence; intervention for children who have lived with violence; and programs that work with abusers on changing the attitudes and beliefs that sanction violence. In early December, TLS members transformed their lobby into a holiday wonderland and delivered the items that were donated. TLS raised $800 that was used to purchase cases of diapers, a wooden kitchen set and hexagon play station that will be used in the pre-school playroom. This will be a welcome addition, especially on cold, rainy days when the children can’t go outside.Together we made a difference in the lives of people facing difficulties most of us can’t begin to imagine.
