Jacksonville Propeller Club Hosts 14th Annual Big Sea Day

The Propeller Club - Port of Jacksonville held its annual Big Sea Day for 30 members of the University of North Florida's Student Port. An experience program director Lynn Brown described as "unforgettable".Jacksonville Port Authority's Director and General Manager, Sales and Marketing, Robert Peek and Kenneth Orben, Director, Northeast Operations at Crowley kicked off the tour with a presentation on port facilities and operations so the students would have a clear understanding of marine terminal operations they would see during the tour. After the orientation, students visited the port's Talleyrand Marine Terminal to watch a crane demonstration and tour Crowley Maritime's LNG-powered Con-Ro vessel, El Coquí. The students then toured the AMPORTS vehicle processing facility at JAXPORT's Blount Island Marine Terminal.Every Big Sea Day is different. The only thing that doesn’t change is the generous welcome from everyone at JAXPORT on behalf of the Propeller Club. JAXPORT staff surprised Lynn Brown with a special gift to recognize her contributions to the Student Port.
