Coppedge Marine was incorporated on May 14, 1982. We do business as Coppedge Marine & Industrial. We are sales representatives for both marine and industrial products, and our main product line is marine and industrial bearings. We also offer castings, shaft sleeves and marine sewage treatment systems. Our employees are all from the Coppedge family. James W. Coppedge is the President, Ed Coppedge (son) is the Vice President and Bill Coppedge (son/brother) is the Treasurer.
All of our employees have had technical training in marine and industrial bearing applications through Thordon Bearings. With 30-plus years of experience, we are one of Thordon Bearings’ oldest distributors and representatives.
The Coppedge family has always been involved in the Propeller Club Port of Jacksonville. James H. Coppedge, who is the father of James W. Coppedge and the grandfather to Ed and Bill, was a founding member. He served as president of the Propeller Club in 1936. James W. Coppedge served as president in 1964. Bobby Coppedge, who worked with Coppedge Marine before moving onto Sun State, served as president in 1992/1993. He died in September 2004 after a battle with cancer. The Propeller Club has honored his dedication to the club by naming the Maritime Person of the Year Award in his honor – The Robert J. “Bobby” Coppedge Maritime Person of the Year Award! Ed Coppedge is currently on the Board, and Bill Coppedge is an active member.
